I have about had it up to here (points above head) with painting. So I’m blogging instead, before I go and do some photography. With chocolate by my side I write.
I’ve been really lazy, I have not done much blogging at all. So, of course, in this blog, I have to include Ethiopia.
So, I’ll start with that, Ethiopia. A dam is nearly complete, and they’re predicting bloodshed already. I mean, what is up with that? The Omo Valley seems to be the second worst place (after Somalia) to sort their business out! Hence I’m sticking to Addis and the mountains when I go. I know that’s shallow, but I think I have a better chance of being safe. Please, Omo, sort yourself out peacefully. It might be traditional to fight the guy next door, but it’s not necessarily best. Same goes to you Ato Meles. I jumped for joy when you said you would retire in 2010! But this mentality is not restricted to that certain country. It’s definately prevalent in NZ, the whole gang thing makes me terribly ashamed of human behaviour in general. The thing is, a lot of us can’t be bothered to make right, we have to fiddle with our own mentality before we try and fix the world. This is hard. Dealing with your own brain is the hardest thing I know.
There are many ways to deal with one’s own brain. Brainstorming and art class are some things, and spending time in the company of very diverse people is another. Reading, listening and talking is a great way to expand your mind to learn of the world you live in and most importantly- learn about yourself.
Every country in the world needs to constantly remind itself of who it is. Especially Somalia, Ethiopia and New Zealand, because I’m writing about them today. The crisis in Somalia will be solved by a patriot (or group of people) who considers themselves and the world around them, and can reconstruct the mentale so that the country can co-exist with the world well. This will work with nearly any country, but this will take time and there will always be about 291 people standing in the way.
Why sometimes I just think life is impossible but you have to ride it until you go through the open door to the next stage (which is probably still complicated!!!)
